What does the new Google Analytics 4 update mean?

We've recently updated our Google Analytics integration to GA4! As of July 1st, 2023, we will only support GA4 accounts in accordance with Google's policies. You'll find a checklist below to ensure your accounts will be compatible with this new update:

  1. If you haven’t set up a GA4 account yet, you will need to do so through Google following these steps: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9304153?hl=en
  2. Once your GA4 account is set up, you'll need to link GA4 to Cloud Campaign. Follow this article to do so: https://help.cloudcampaign.com/knowledge/how-to-integrate-google-analytics
  3. Once linked, you'll be able to use your GA4 account to generate reports. When generating the reports you can select the relevant account in the drop-down if you have more than one linked.

NOTES: The data presented in the reports will only go back as far as when you set up your GA4 account with Google. So if you set up the account yesterday, you'll only see data starting from then from GA4.

You may also notice some differences in how metrics are presented in GA4 vs. UA. This article from Google will explain how to read and compare these differences: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11986666?sjid=15077237155612515052-NA#zippy=%2Cin-this-article
